Former NBA player Matt Barnes recently spoke about Draymond Green and the incident involving Golden State Warriors teammate Jordan Poole. In an interview with Shannon Sharpe, Barnes stated that the Golden State Warriors cannot win the championship without Green. While Barnes agreed that Green is not the best player on the roster, he said that Green is the “heart and soul” of his team. Amidst the Draymond Green controversy, former Warriors teammate Matt Barnes spoke out in support of Green. While the NBA star was harshly criticized for his violent approach toward Jordan Poole, Barnes had nothing but praise for Green. Former NFL player and host Shannon Sharpe said that Green is the “heartbeat?of the Warriors team. He then asked Barnes what he believes Green brings to the table for the Warriors.

“He’s the heart and soul of that organization, of that city. And I knew it from the outside looking in but once I got there it’s…you can clearly see it. I mean this team…again, he’s not the best player on the team, but this team wins no championships without Draymond Green. And that’s not far-fetched, that’s not a hot take… that’s just facts…” said Barnes.

The Warriors will not suspend Draymond Green

Several days after Draymond Green landed a punch on Jordan Poole, the Golden State Warriors?announced Green’s punishment. Head coach?Steve Kerr said that Green had been fined for the physical altercation that took place during practice, but the team opted out of suspending the veteran forward. The decision was reportedly taken after consulting Green’s teammates, including Jordan Poole.

“Poole is willing to move forward and willing to get back out on the floor with Draymond and go to work,” said Kerr during a press conference.

As of now, the team is working together to get past the incident. Warriors star, Stephen Curry reportedly organized a healing conversation with the team. Additionally, Kerr commended Warriors center, Kevon Looney, calling him a “special human being”.?Kerr praised Looney for putting in the effort to bring the team together during the difficult time. He added that Looney was the moral compass of the team.
