Former NBA star Jalen Rose probably has some of the worst memories with Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. The Mamba once dropped 81 points on Rose’s team and this haunts him to date. Recently, Rose made a claim on how much a person should spend on a haircut. Rose, who is not really known for having the best haircuts, suggested that people should be spending an absurd amount of money on haircuts.

During his time in the league, Rose usually kept a simple haircut but that changed after retiring from the league. He is somewhat of a fashion aficionado currently and has a great haircut. According to him, people should be spending a minimum of $100 on a haircut. Naturally, this absurd claim caught the NBA world’s attention and fans didn’t leave any stone unturned to mock him.

Kobe Bryant memories haunt Jalen Rose as the NBA world reacts

You know the situation is bad when people remember a player based on the number of points dropped on him. Jalen Rose’s story is no different. Although he won the 1999-00 Most Improved Player award, the fondest memory etched in the minds of NBA fans is Kobe Bryant scoring 81 points against him.

As the above reactions suggest, fans have come out all guns blazing to roast the former Toronto Raptors star. Fans will not let Rose forget Bryant dropping 81 points on that fateful night so easily.

Bryant once trolled Rose during a commercial

Five-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant had a good sense of humor. During a commercial, he left the NBA world in splits by mocking Jalen Rose. In the video, a waiter asks Bryant the number of olives he wants in his vodka martini.

Interestingly, even Rose was present in the scene and Bryant replied, “81” while looking at Rose. The waiter was dumbfounded and Bryant replied, “Nah, man, I’m just playing. Just two. It was a joke for him (Jalen Rose). He gets it.”

In the fateful Lakers vs Raptors clash in 2006, Bryant scored 81 points and led his team to a 122-104 win. This performance is forever etched in the memory of NBA fans and Lakers fans, in particular. Safe to say, Rose certainly remembers the performance as well.
