LeBron James and the rest of the team came in with an absolute focus to even things out after losing to the Bulls on Sunday. Given that the Lakers are in a tense battle for the Playoff spots in the Western Conference with a 38-38 season record, Los Angeles has barely been hanging on to dear life in the hopes of making the postseason.

And still, the outcome is uncertain. No wonder the entire team gave it their all in their most recent matchup. Anthony Davis led the night with 38 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks for the game. Maybe former Boston Celtics center Kendrick Perkins’ criticizing take on Davis may have motivated him to give it his best.

As for the rest, LeBron James wasn’t far behind with a 25-point performance. Followed by Austin Reaves and his 19 points. But the highlight of the game was Reaves hitting Beverley with the ‘too small’ gesture he used on LBJ days ago.

Patrick Beverley got a stop on LeBron James in the third quarter. and he was quick to wag his finger in The King‘s face on the court, inciting memories of Dikembe Mutombo. So, during the fourth quarter of the game, Austin Reaves drove to the rim with Patrick Beverley guarding him.

Reaves managed to hit a running floater over Beverley from the free-throw line. He made sure to taunt Pat Bev with the ‘too small’ gesture on the way back.

Shannon Sharpe and fans on board with Reaves’ gesture

Fans couldn’t help but be amused by Reaves giving Beverley a taste of his own medicine. One fan tweeted, “Aye can someone tell me Pat Bev stats for today? Didn’t watch the game surely he did good after all that talking right?”

While another fan commented, “hold that you b***h.”

Even NFL legend Shannon Sharpe couldn’t control himself. He updated his social media with a tweet saying, “Kobe of the Ozark’s told Pat Bev he’s too small #LakersNation.”

Here are a few more reactions from fans on Twitter.

Fans were happy that Beverley got a taste of his own medicine. While many others mocked his stats and performance against the Lakers as well.

Even after the game, Austin Reaves had a few words as to why he taunted Beverley in-game. He said, “It wasn’t something I thought about doing all game but I felt like right time, you know, right situation and like you said, me and Pet got a good relationship. I respect him. It’s just me competing.”
