Dennis Rodman is known for making bold moves on and off the field. He has often been attracted to a celebrity lifestyle and often appeared on various reality and sports shows. Once, Dennis Rodman signed up to be a part of WWE legend Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling. The five-time NBA champ shockingly managed to win a wrestling championship belt in 2008.

Dennis Rodman became a legend for the Chicago Bulls by winning three straight championships with Michael Jordan between 1996-1998. However, the two-time NBA champ’s lifestyle was not restricted to the confinements of a basketball court. Apart from his interest in the entertainment industry and Las Vegas casinos, Rodman also liked to make appearances in wrestling bouts in the 1990s.

Dennis Rodman competes in Hulk Hogan’s show

Hogan and Rodman remained friends over the years. In 2008, the NBA veteran made an appearance on Hulk’s reality TV show, Hulk Hogan’s celebrity Championship Wrestling. The WWE Hall of Famer’s show featured ten celebrities and TV personalities. They trained and fought against each other through competitive wrestling challenges, with hopes of winning the Celebrity All-Star wrestling champion’s belt. The wrestling reality show was judged by Hulk Hogan, wrestling manager Jimmy Hart, and former WCW president Eric Bischoff.

Dennis Rodman was among the ten celebrities who were a part of the championship contention. Fortunately, Rodman made it to the finals and managed to win the title against tough odds.

The seven-time NBA rebounding champ faced famous actor Todd Bridges in the finals. Rodman won the champion’s belt despite his stiffness and uncanny moves during the first season. However, Hulk Hogan’s wrestling reality show never returned for a second season.

Dennis Rodman made frequent appearances in the WCW alongside the six-time heavyweight champion in the 1990s. The Bulls legend first came to the WCW in 1995, teaming up with Hulk Hogan at Bash at the Beach after his second season with the San Antonio Spurs. Rodman joined Hogan at the pre-match promo and then cheered from outside for the main event cage match.

Dennis Rodman joined Hulk Hogan again in March 1997. The Worm helped eliminate Rowdy Roddy Piper from the Uncensored games. Moreover, Rodman reappeared alongside Hogan at the Bash of the Beach in 1998 after winning the championship when Karl Malone teamed up with DDP.

Thus, Rodman’s love for wrestling and his friendship with Hulk Hogan inspired him to attend the CCW. Luckily, he won a championship belt in the 2008 reality show.
