WNBA star’s gesture to honor Kobe Bryant’s daughter, Gigi Bryant

In the 2023 WNBA season-opening game, the Washington Mystics took on the New York Liberty on Friday night. Ahead of the game, Liberty guard, Sabrina Ionescu, honored Gigi Bryant by wearing the ‘Team Mamba Gigi Bryant Player Edition’ jersey while making her way to the locker room. The 25-year-old star flaunted her jersey tucked inside black trousers and walked inside the arena with her headphones on.

Moreover, Ionescu walked into the arena fresh from her new contract extension with the New York franchise. Ionescu ended her last year of the rookie season contract and extended her contract for $410,060 for two years. Moreover, the star would look to capitalize on the contract as the 2020 No.1 overall pick failed to make a mark in the rookie season due to an ankle injury.
