Ja Morant might have used his own hands to jeopardize his career. Only months ago, the Memphis Grizzlies star fell into hot water for flashing a firearm. The NBA suspended him for eight games – it was meant to be a lesson. However, days after the Grizzlies’ playoff exit, the 23-year-old is seemingly back on the same track. Morant was in an Instagram Live video brandishing what looked like a firearm.? Discussing the young star’s reckless actions, Charles Barkley and the Inside the NBA crew weighed in on the matter.

Instead of unleashing his fury on Morant however, the Phoenix Suns legend went after the “fools” who defend him. Barkley has never shied away from putting things as they are and it certainly wasn’t any different this time.

Charles Barkley infuriated with ‘fools’ who are defending Ja Morant

Before even talking about Ja Morant, Charles Barkley addressed the people, who he calls “idiots”, who have tried to stand up for the 23-year-old Grizzlies star.

“First of all, I got to say something man. We got some idiots, some fools, some jacka**** on television that really just piss me off talking about ‘Ja should make a stance saying he didn’t break any laws, he didn’t do anything wrong, we are in a state where we can carry a gun’. Those guys are just, the just freaking idiots,” said Barkley in his rant.

He isn’t the only person who shares such feelings. Only days ago, NFL legend Shannon Sharpe sat high on his seat on Undisputed and resonated with Barkley’s opinion. “I?m mad, I?m upset, I?m disappointed, I?m disgusted by the people that defended him because that?s what got us here,? said the three-time Super Bowl champion. The NBA Hall of Famer sees the situation from a very simple perspective.

“When you’re making a hundred million dollars a year to play sports, your life changes. There are certain rules and regulations you have to live by, plain and simple. You can’t do stupid stuff, that’s the trade-off,” he said concerning Ja Morant.

According to Barkley, Ja Morant has hit the ‘lottery’. He has signed a $194,300,000 deal with the Memphis Grizzlies all to “dribble a stupid basketball” as the 1992 Dream Team member said. He solely believes it is the two-time All-Star who is proving to be his own undoing.

Charles Barkley was no saint in his NBA days

If Charles Barkley is asking Ja Morant to slow down, it comes from a place of experience. The 60-year-old today comes off as a humble, comedic analyst who shares laughs beside the Inside the NBA crew. But as an NBA superstar, Barkley had a knack for getting into trouble.

He was an outspoken individual who had several career-staining incidents over the years. From throwing a person through the window to spitting on a fan, Barkley did it all. However, at the end of the day, he learned to be apologetic, admitting to his mistakes and, more importantly, learning from his behavior.
