The Big man has a very close-knit family, even though he separated from his wife, Shaunie, back in 2007. Since then, the couple has moved on in their lives. Shaunie Nelson married again, leading a very different life with her pastor husband. In a recent podcast, her husband spilled the beans about their relationship.

Recently on a podcast, Pastor Keion Henderson, the husband of Shaunie Nelson, decided to reveal how they first met. The couple has frequently been riddled with the same question by fans, as some had never imagined Shaunie ending up with a pastor.

Shaunie Nelson and Pastor Keion Henderson married in 2022, and the married couple is loving life as they flaunt each other on social media. In a recent episode of the Grow Zone podcast, Henderson decided to reveal to everyone the story of how the couple met. He instead gave the responsibility to his wife. Shaunie hilariously named the story of their first meeting.

“How did a Pastor find a Heathen and marry her??” joked Shaunie. When her husband denied anyone ever saying that, she retaliated, “They do. There are comments. I think it’s kind of funny because I’m not a heathen. But it’s funny, I like to go into your circle of people and say ‘The heathen’s here’ cause nobody thinks I’ve stepped into a church before I met you.“

Shaunie narrated how both met at a hotel lobby before talking endlessly for hours in the restaurant and the reception. Although the story was mostly true, the couple kept on hilariously fighting over the itsy-bitsy details of the story throughout the podcast.

Nevertheless, they seem happy with each other, and Shaunie appears to have moved on from her past. Shaq and Shaunie divorced over a decade ago, and the big man has taken responsibility for it numerous times.

Over the years, Shaq has not been too keen to talk about the past. However, he has been honest whenever he’s spoken on the subject. In an interview last year, Shaq took full responsibility for the failed marriage as he felt he was “selfish” in the relationship.

The ex-couple parented three children together, and they seem to have a perfectly everyday life despite their parents’ separation. A promising sign of how the family is pretty close-knit, come rain or shine.
