The Houston Rockets had faced the Washington Wizards on January 2, 2022. Rockets fans erupted with joy when Porter Jr. made a game-winning shot defeating the Wizards by 114-111. LeBron James blasts NBA analyst

Broadcaster and analyst Glenn Consor was heavily criticized after he incorrectly identified Houston Rockets star Kevin Porter Jr. Following a game-winning shot by the NBA star, Consor made a comment regarding Porter that did not sit well with the NBA world. After Porter hit a buzzer beater against the Washington Wizards, Consor said, “You’ve got to give credit. Kevin Porter Jr., like his dad, pulled that trigger right at the right time.”

Consor apparently thought that Porter was the son of former Washington Wizards (Bullets) player Kevin Porter. However, the Houston star’s father, Bryan Kevin Porter Sr., was reportedly a convicted murderer who was sentenced to prison in 1993 and died in a shooting in 2004.

Upon realizing the blunder he had caused, Consor did not waste time in issuing a public apology to Porter, his family, and the Rockets franchise for his ‘insensitive’ comment. However, this did not stop LeBron James from lashing out at the analyst for what he had said.
