The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t had an eventful season so far. Their major star, Anthony Davis, has been sidelined multiple times picking up injuries from time to time. This has left LeBron James to steer the ship all alone as the new arrival Russell Westbrook hasn’t delivered yet. However, what would happen if AD and the King never teamed up in the first place?

Back in 2017, the NBA world received the most shocking news. Kyrie Irving decided to part ways with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers and make his way to Boston. He joined the young Celtics team and soon became the leader in Boston. However, only two years after the trade, Kyrie decided to leave the Celtics and join forces with Kevin Durant.

Kyrie Irving almost stole a championship from LeBron James

According to recent reports, during his time with the Celtics, Kyrie Irving took a keen interest in bringing AD to Boston. There was a brief moment where it felt like Davis was making his way to the Celtics. However, a falling out between the two players caused the move to never happen. The nature of the falling out is unknown.

In 2019, the Warriors were still the most dominant team in the league with Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry in the lineup. And there were no signs of the Bay’s All-Star players splitting up. However, an incident against the Clippers changed the narrative as KD and Green got into a heated fight. Moreover, that year during the All-Star game, KAI and Durant spoke about teaming up together.

This led to a change in the pattern that altered the landscape of the NBA. Irving decided to move on from the Celtics after just two seasons in Boston. He chose to team up with Kevin Durant in Brooklyn in a surprise move, which had the NBA in shock. While the duo is yet to have any kind of big success, the Nets are in for an exciting season after landing Ben Simmons for James Harden.

After the falling out between Kyrie and AD, the Pelicans star decided to join LeBron James and moved to the Lakers. And he made an instant impact. In the bubble season, the Lakers emerged as champions and Anthony Davis played an integral part in helping LeBron capture his fourth career title.
