Kevin Durant is one of the best shooters of all time. But his legacy as someone who can lead his teams to glory has been questioned, as of late. Critics have alleged that without players like Stephen Curry in the Golden State Warriors, he wouldn’t have his two NBA rings. He is still a two time Finals MVP, and next season, all the pressure will be on him. According to analyst and Durant’s ex-teammate in OKC Thunder, Kendrick Perkins, the player under most pressure other than Zion next season will be Kevin Durant.

“He will be under the most pressure especially if Golden State go on to win the title. He decided to leave Golden State. Golden State have reached the finals and replaced him with Andre Wiggins and haven’t lost a beat when healthy,” says Perkins. “He’s going to have all the pressure. All eyes will be on him and the Brooklyn Nets organisation and how far he will go because at the end of the day, he is a two time MVP, two time Finals MVP. But still we want to see if Kevin Durant lead the team by himself and get it done.”

Kevin Durant: His Past and Future

Durant had a horrible end to his postseason. His team got swept by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs. Moreover, he averaged 26 points per game on 38% shooting from the field. The Boston defence mostly kept him from going at them. They double teamed him, with the likes of Jayson Tatum being especially effective against him.

Durant, since then, has got into a beef with ex player Charles Barkley, when he was called a “bus rider” by the latter. He also got booed during an EuroLeague game in Monaco, but still he continues to enjoy life and Twitter.

It will be a long off season for him, though, as there are rumours circulating of Kyrie Irving being let go by the Brooklyn Nets. Durant may have to rethink his future once again if that happens.
