LeBron James once confessed that he apologized to his wife for wanting to be the best NBA player ever. Back in 2017, LeBron was playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. During that time, he appeared in an episode of the ‘Road Trippin” podcast. That chat session was hosted by former NBA stars Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye, who were LeBron’s Cavs teammates at the time. They were also joined by co-host and sideline reporter Allie Clifton. The episode came out on March 6, 2017.
Every athlete undoubtedly strives to be the best in their respective sports. LeBron James is no different. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has entered his 20th NBA season this year. In the podcast episode, the hosts decided to talk about LeBron James’ life outside the court. They asked James what his favorite cartoon and TV show was. In response, James said that he liked watching ‘The Lion King’ and the Will Smith starred sitcom ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel Air’. James even confessed that he gets emotional every time he watches these shows. The four-time NBA champion said that the reason he gets emotional might be because he grew up without a father. In the same episode, LeBron James earlier expressed that “real men cry”.

Furthermore, he revealed that he had just recently apologized to his wife, Savannah James. The reason was his obsession to become the best in the sport. According to King James, he told her that in his journey to become the greatest, there were times when he forgot how important she was to him.
“‘I want you to understand that along this journey while I’m playing this game there will be times that I lose the fact of how important you and my three kids are – my babies are,'” James told Savannah.

Given the number of accolades James has won, it might be safe to say that he is perhaps halfway there. The four-time NBA Finals MVP was recently declared a billionaire by Forbes. He was also named the Athlete of the Year by TIME magazine in 2020. Furthermore, LeBron James is all set to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the all-time highest scorer in the league’s history.
