All things had been turning up for the Brooklyn Nets as they went on their biggest winning streak this season. That 12-game winning streak was brought to an end by the Chicago Bulls. But the Nets were quick to bounce back as they won their next two games, defeating the Miami Heat in their last matchup. However, an unprecedented play during the final minute of the third quarter led to a scary collision that may have injured Kevin Durant.

The Brooklyn Nets, powering away at 27-13 have the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. And a lot of that credit goes to the star players of Brooklyn, especially Kevin Durant and his 29.7 points per game average.

Scary collision with Kevin Durant

As the third quarter was about to come to a close, Jimmy Butler drove to the rim from the baseline, turning the corner. He managed to beat Seth Curry off the dribble but met Ben Simmons at the rim which led to a blocked shot.

Butler, however, wasn’t able to gather himself and fell right into Kevin Durant which saw the 12-time All-Star clenching his right leg. According to Nick Friedell of ESPN, “Vaughn said Durant will likely get an MRI on Monday.”

The Brooklyn Nets without their leading scorer

The last time Kevin Durant went down with a serious injury was during game 5 of the NBA finals in 2019. Durant suffered an Achilles injury to his right foot, the same foot that he was seen clenching during the game against the Heat.
