Former US President Donald Trump announced he is going to contest in the 2024 presidential elections. Notably, after a defeat in 2020, the controversial figure has remained out of public office since then. And now, it seems like the ex-US President is back in the limelight. And when talking about Trump and his presidency, his old friend Dennis Rodman does not prefer to see him as a president.
The five-time NBA champ has a lot of high-profile and controversial figures as his friends. And North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong-un is one of them. Rodman has been visiting North Korea for some time now and he and Kim are reportedly close friends. Rodman even took a basketball team to play in North Korea. Not to forget that The Worm was one of the main reasons for the first meeting between the leaders of North Korea and the United States.

Dennis Rodman also had a very cordial relationship with Donald Trump. The duo has been friends for a while, but Rodman had a few words to say about Trump becoming the president.
Dennis Rodman does not want to see Donald Trump as president
Rodman has never been very vocal about politics but during his first term, he had a few words to say about Trump. He said, “I like Donald Trump. I don’t like him as a president, but he’s f—–g cool as f–k. Donald Trump makes me laugh. He tries to be this holier than thou guy, and I kid him about that every time I see him, I don’t look at him like the president, I look at him like a friend.”
“He can carry a torch with me anytime, someone who I can sit down, chit chat, and have a beer with.”

There has been no response by Trump to these comments, but Rodman has maintained dialogues with the former president. Rodman was very vocal in calling for the North Korea-US meeting. And he repeatedly asked Trump to attend the meeting. And to Rodman’s credit, the meeting actually took place and the NBA champ received a lot of credit for that.

It will be interesting to see if Rodman comes out to support Trump in his bid to become the president again. But as seen in the past, Rodman does not want to see Trump as the president, as he considers him more as a friend.
