Naturally, this controversy has everyone talking. Charles Barkley and NFL legend Shannon Sharpe have been very vocal about the 23-year-old. Following up on similar lines, Brooklyn Nets guard Mikal Bridges recently gave his two cents on the issue.

A few days ago, Morant apparently flashed a firearm during an Instagram live session. This incident came just a few months after the Grizzlies guard was suspended for 8 games following a similar incident.

The 2022 Most Improved Player has invited criticism from all around. NBA legend Charles Barkley was not the biggest fan of his actions. The Hall of Famer was as critical of Morant as he was two months ago. Time and again, eminent voices from the media world have advised Morant to change his surroundings. During a recent appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Mikal Bridges shared the same sentiment.

Former NFL safety Ryan Clark touched upon the importance of having the ‘right people’ around you and not ‘yes men‘. Bridges instantly replied that his mother doesn’t indulge in having yes men around her. Interestingly, as the Nets star grows older, he is beginning to adhere to his mother’s principles.

Bridges said, “As I got older now, its funny, because I feel like I’m really becoming you. She is human resources, she has to fire people all the time and she has to be that boss lady.” Bridges then talked about the times he would buy his friends food with his own money when he was younger. Although his mother understood why Bridges did that, she advised him to think about himself.?

He further added, “I learned so much from her, I don’t play none of that sh*t no more. I’m in the league for a while now, so I just understand when people try to either like, not use me or try to just be there just because of the famous stuff.”

A few days ago, Charles Barkley hit out at everyone on television who defended Morant. “Those guys are just,? just freaking idiots,” said Barkley about people who asserted that Morant did nothing wrong. Following his actions, the 2 time NBA All-Star has been suspended from all team activities.?
