The Lakers suffered a frustrating 125-121 defeat against the Celtics in overtime. James ran down the lane against three Celtics’ defense to take up a lead with less than four seconds left in the 4th quarter. Jayson Tatum’s hand clearly touched James’ hand during his layup. But the referee failed to call a foul. Following the game, Beverley went up to the officials with proof in his hand for an argument. However, it went in vain. Moreover, he further won fans’ hearts with his recent tweet.
Patrick Beverley hits back at a wrong claim.
Clutch Points, a sports Twitter page, tweeted a Patrick Beverley claim after the Celtics game with a video clip. In the clip, the Lakers’ star rebounded a ball with a putback dunk leaving the players and the spectators in surprise. Significantly, the dunk left King James in utter disbelief as he stood there unmoved. The sports page also included a tweet that read, “LeBron James couldn’t believe Patrick Beverley’s putback dunk for the lead. It’s Pat Bev’s first dunk since the 2019-20 season.” Responding to the tweet, Pat Bev wrote, “Nope not true. Dunked in playoffs last year. Get ya facts right.”
The fans swarmed the comments with various opinions on Beverley’s tweet. One user said, “I got up off my couch and ran around the house, this sh** was nasty. I’m still hurt about what the refs did.”
