“I Haven’t Been a Great Father..A Great Husband”: NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman, Who Has 3 Kids, Once Got Real on His Family Struggles

There have been many players coming and going in basketball throughout the years. Every player has a unique story to tell. During the 2011 NBA Hall of Fame induction, Dennis Rodman was inducted into the Hall. When one of the greatest players entered the stage, he gave a speech that melted everyone’s heart. He spoke from his heart till the last minute on the stage.

The Pistons and Bulls’ names were emblazoned on his black jacket, and he shared his thoughts during the ceremony. Aside from talking about his time in the NBA, his parents, and his children, he also discussed his experience as a father.

With the Netflix documentary, “The Last Dance” many people learned about the inside stories of Rodman during his NBA career with the Bulls. During his NBA career, his best time came while playing alongside Michael Jordan.

In his tribute to his wife, Dennis Rodman said she was an excellent parent

As part of his speech, he talked about his favorite game. His experiences as an NBA player have taught him many things, and those are the memories he cherishes from his NBA career. Between those words, NBA Hall of Famer Rodman, a father of three, once admitted to struggling with his family.

During his speech, he thanked his wife Michelle, who “has put up with a lot of crap. I haven’t been a great father and haven’t been a great husband. I can’t lie about that. She’s tolerated everything from me for 11 years. She’s been a mother and a father. I have one regret. … I wish I was a better father.”

He also mentioned saying, “If anyone asks if I have any regrets in your career being a basketball player, I say I have one regret: I wish I was a better father,” he admitted.
