Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union-Wade, were recently given the President’s award for their contribution to solving social issues. The power couple was among the hundreds of attendees at the star-studded 2023 NAACP Image Awards that took place on February 25. It has been about two days since the grand event was held, and the couple is still one of the trending topics because of their strong and impactful acceptance speeches. Amidst all that, Union shared a series of photos and videos with a caption that garnered attention from several fellow actors.

The Wade family has gone through their fair share of rough patches due to the legal issues and verbal war with the NBA veteran’s ex-wife Siovaughn Funches. While many supported Wade’s decision to file a gender and name change petition for Zaya, others criticized the move. After months of being under a negative spotlight and enduring public scrutiny, the ‘Wades’ finally saw the light when a Los Angeles County judge signed the gender change petition in approval.

Just two days after Union and her husband, Dwyane Wade, gave a powerful speech on the prestigious platform, the former shared a series of stunning pictures from a photo shoot and behind-the-scenes clips.

One of the clips showed Wade holding an umbrella with one hand and Union with the other as he escorted her to the car in the drizzle. Union uploaded the post on her Instagram handle with a comment that read, “I might need secret service after this.”

Union began by expressing her gratitude for getting the opportunity to be present among influential people. She then dived into the societal issues that Black people face.
