“With you by my side, I know that I’ll always be taken care of and protected. I will give every ounce of my love that is possible to you, as long as you cook me fried chicken wings and hot chocolate,” said Griner.

Glory Johnson then read her vow, which was concise and heartfelt. She also accepted the complications their relationship might tackle in the future. “I promise to be the Whitney to your Bobby, the Bonnie to your Clyde, the Ike to your Tina,” Johnson started.

She continued, “I promise to accept that we’re different, that we will see the world differently and over the course of our marriage we will want different thingsI don’t expect this to be easy.”

Fair to assume, Griner would have been moved to tears by Johnson’s vow.

Glory Johnson also spoke out regarding Brittney Griner’s detention

Cherelle Griner, Brittney Griner’s wife, has been vocal and has done all in her power to help bring her partner home. She even spoke with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, both of whom promised to pursue every option to bring her wife home.

She made it extremely clear that she is extremely supportive of Griner. Johnson also stated that even after their short-lived marriage, they both share secrets and feelings with one another. She also stated that she doesn’t need to be married to someone to show their support for them.

It’s encouraging to learn that Griner’s ex-wife remains positive about her return to the United States. As she mentioned in her statement, their divorce has brought them closer than they have ever been.
