“I Think His Dad Messed Him Up”: Before Charging NBA Star with Marijuana Possession, Cops Passed Comments on Future $200 Million+ Rising Star

The newest acquisition of the Philadelphia 76ers Montrezl Harrell got into trouble with the law recently. Harrell was stopped by cops for a check and after further inspection, they found a large quantity of Marijuana on him. The cops let him go with a citation and warning, but that was not before they chatted with Harrell about the NBA. And they passed a few comments on a future star who could potentially sign a contract over $200 million in the near future.

Harrell and his friend were routinely stopped by cops in Kentucky. After smelling an odor, they detained the NBA star and his friend. They were friendly with him and they chatted with Harrell about the NBA. The cops were apparently curious about the NBA, and they asked him a bunch of questions.

One of them was about Charlotte Hornets superstar, LaMelo Ball, who is a former teammate of Harrell.

From the video recorded during the stop, the cops asked Harrell a bunch of questions. One of the cops asked him, “How’s LaMelo?”

To which Harrell said, “He’s a cool person. I mean, regular kid. At the end of the day, people got to understand he’s a kid.”

A cop then commented, “I think his dad messed him up.”The cops asked Harrel a bunch of questions about the NBA before letting him go. While searching the car they asked him about the playoffs, his former teammates at the Lakers, Clippers, Wizards, and Hornets. They even asked who he thought was the biggest prick in the league. Subsequently, the cops wanted to know the best big man that Harrell has ever played against.

The conversation between the 28-year-old hooper and the Kentucky State police troopers encapsulated a wide range of topics on the game of basketball. The cops even asked him about the best facilities in the NBA. In response, Harrell replied that the Warriors and the Grizzlies have the best facilities. On the other hand, the facilities at Philly and Boston are not as exciting.

Later on, cops found three pounds of marijuana in the car. The NBA player was charged with a Class D felony. Subsequently, Harrell entered a plea agreement with prosecutors to reduce the charges against him.
