Stephen Curry has been the center of attraction in the NBA for quite a while now. The Golden State Warriors superstar’s stock rose even further after he won his first Finals MVP award in June 2022. For all the love and support he has received, there are people who always seem to find something to critique. However, one player recently backtracked on the criticism he levied on Curry a few weeks back.

Mike James, a former member of the Brooklyn Nets, elaborated on his previous comments. James, who was a teammate of Kevin Durant and has praised him quite often, had called Curry a one-dimensional player. James stated that being a point guard himself, he didn’t like the fact that Curry is not the primary ball handler on many occasions.

Golden State Warriors fans lambasted James for his comments on Curry. He even went as far as to exclude Curry from the top-five players in the NBA right now. However, James expanded on his comments after the massive public outcry.

He said, “I think I said a lot of controversial things in general, because I think outside the box. But for some reason, every time I mention Steph Curry, everybody gets mad, and everybody assumes I don’t like him“. James had previously stated that Stephen Curry was a product of the Warriors’ system.

James continued, ?”But I think he’s amazing. To be honest, he changed basketball. Like seven years ago, everybody started shooting threes and playing small ball.” He believes that Curry was mainly responsible for the revolution and the Warriors should also get some credit for it. James also revealed that he didn’t have any problems with Curry.

Stephen Curry is shutting his critics up

James wasn’t the first person to irk the four-time NBA champion. Last season was probably Curry’s best at an individual level. He made history early on in the season after he broke the all-time NBA three-point record.
