Dennis Rodman was not always the person he turned out to be. On the contrary, he was the polar opposite of his future self. However, Rodman’s exit from the ‘Bad Boys’ Detroit Pistons marked the birth of the version of Rodman we all love and hate today. Dennis Rodman, the reserved and shy man in Detroit, evolved into a rebellious party animal within less than a year. The Chicago Bulls legend once addressed his relationship with pop icon Madonna while his transformation into his brand-new self was still underway. And that’s what made him attractive to Madonna, Rodman claimed.

Dennis Rodman is as famous for his escapades outside the basketball court as he is for his exploits on it. The Worm is well-known for his relationships with several popular women, including actress Carmen Electra and pop sensation Madonna.

Over the years, Dennis Rodman has had an eventful dating life. But the biggest highlight of his romantic ventures is his brief yet fruitful relationship with iconic singer Madonna. However, the Worm’s relationship with the Grammy-winning singer came at a crucial point in his life.

After attempting suicide less than a year ago, Rodman decided to change the scenery and move out of Detroit. However, the Hall of Famer’s geographic relocation wasn’t the only major change in his life. The Worm evolved into the polar opposite of his former self, but it took time to readjust. However, Rodman found himself in a relationship with Madonna during that process.

In an interview a while back, the 5x NBA champion once revealed how his relationship with the iconic singer took off. He said, “I think Madonna saw me as a kid in a candy store; I was trying to find my way, but she’s already done it. She saw this young kid; I was like maybe 30-31, I was just coming out the box, I was coming out the shell, I was coming behind out the closet pretty much.” 

Moreover, Rodman also shed light on what Madonna saw in him and found attractive. He said, ” I think she saw a guy like, ‘ Wow he’s very somewhat attractive, nice body, and besides all this, this is nothing, I think she saw me coming out and being free, and I think that was more attractive to her than anything else.”

The former DPOY’s move to the San Antonio Spurs in 1993 also marked his high-profile relationship with Madonna. The two dated for a few months, and it was easily one of Rodman’s most controversial relationships. Moreover, it was Rodman who got out of the relationship as he revealed in his 1996 memoir that he didn’t want to be “Madonna’s Playboy, her boy-toy.” During those few months, the couple made headlines regularly with polarizing stories. The former couple once made headlines when reports suggested that Madonna had offered Dennis Rodman $20 million to impregnate her.

Dennis Rodman’s adventurous dating life

Besides Madonna, Rodman has also dated other high-profile individuals. His first wife was Annie Bakes, with whom he had his daughter, Alexis Rodman. The Worm also briefly dated actress Vivica A Fox in 1997 and 1998. However, his most passionate relationship came with Carmen Electra.

 The two dated for about a year. However, the highlight of their relationship was their marriage, which lasted only nine days before they filed for an annulment.

The Hall of Famer reportedly also dated Jaimyse Haft, Alicia Douvall, and Jeanie Buss for a brief period.
