NBA Legend Dennis Rodman grew up in with his mother and two sisters. He did not have a father figure in his life as had moved away from the family when Rodman was very young. And the five-time NBA champ did not meet him until 1997 when his old man approached him at the Bulls practice facility.
Rodman’s dad left the family when The Worm was only three or four years old. And this made him resentful towards him for a really long time. The Bulls star did not meet him until his 30s and he eventually connected with him in the later part of his life.

Dennis Rodman says his father approached him at the Bulls practice facility
Rodman was doing an interview for ESPN where he talked about his journey in the NBA, his childhood, and his life. The reporter asked Rodman about his father. Rodman said, ” I can’t recall anything about him, whoever he is. I saw him one time in the Philippines, four years ago”
Rodman then corrected himself, saying that it was actually the second time he had seen him. The first time was in 1997 when the Bulls were in practice. He adds, “I was going to practice at the Berto center, I was late. I was going to get into the gate and this black guy runs up to my truck.”

“‘I need to talk to you, I’m late for practice, I just wanted to let you know that I am your father’,” the man had told Rodman.
However, Rodman said he didn’t much heed to him and thought he was a fan. He eventually got it out of his mind and finished his practice. Then after that, his father approached him and told him again that he was his father. But Rodman wasn’t bothered too much by it. Some people informed the seven-time NBA rebounding champion that his father had written a book about him. However, Rodman didn’t care that much about it.
