Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant and his dad today are very close today, even though they had a tough time during his childhood. He had left KD and his family for a while and did not connect with his son for a while. Durant opened up on the tough times he faced about his father leaving him in 2015.

Kevin Durant was born to Wanda Durant and Wayne Pratt. But when KD was one, his father left his mom, and he later divorced her. KD took his mother’s maiden name after that. He was raised by his mom and grandmother.

But he later entered back into KD’s life and they eventually reconnected.

Wayne Pratt eventually came back when KD was 13 and he put in more effort with his sons. Durant said that he was really happy that his dad came back. He used to see him before in the neighborhood, but he could not talk to him.

Kevin Durant said that his dad used to pick him up from school and they used to hang around and play video games together. He was very excited when his dad came back and he had hoped to have that every day. But that wasn’t the case to be.

KD used to play video games and wrestle with his dad. He used to joke around and hang out with him. And when he left, he was really that he couldn’t do that anymore. But his dad eventually returned when he was 16 and they reconnected.

He was part of his son’s teenage years and helped him through his way in college and the early part of the NBA. KD has thanked his dad on several occasions, even though he had to endure a tough time in his childhood, especially when his dad left him.
