NBA legend and millionaire Shaquille O’Neal has one of the wisest heads when it comes to money. Unlike many other athletes, who fail to manage their finances after retirement, O’Neal has earned a fortune after retiring. On a recent episode of The Big Shaq Podcast, Shaq joined Nichelle Turner and Joshua Johnson, the ‘King of NBA Twitter’. On their podcast, they talked about the highly publicized Kyrie Irving trade.
Nichelle Turner pointed out that Irving is a $50 million player, but his off-court antics make him an unpopular choice. Elaborating further, Shaq had some words regarding money and how players are supposed to act.

Shaquille O’Neal has some advice for people making millions
Four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal has a massive net worth of $400 million. Apart from the earnings from his various businesses, he rakes in a salary of $60 million from TNT.
During a segment from his podcast, the Los Angeles Lakers legend asserts that people should be behaving a certain way if they make a lot of money. Moreover, he also said that a lot of people are jealous because of the money in the NBA.
Shaq said, “The type of money they make, it definitely breeds jealousy. So if a guy’s making $60 million, you’re expecting to be a certain way. Not all guys are gonna do that, not all guys are gonna be that.”
He also said that just because his family and his kids are watching the games, Shaq Diesel would put in more effort just for them. For the majority of his career, Shaq was married to Shaunie Nelson with whom he shares four kids.

Kyrie Irving already settling well within the team
The former NBA champion joined the Dallas Mavericks from the Brooklyn Nets in a blockbuster trade deal. He recently made his debut on February 8, 2023, against the Los Angeles Clippers, one of the teams he was linked with.

Although Luka Doncic was injured, the Mavs beat the Clippers 110-104. Irving scored 24 points and led the team to a brilliant victory. The Mavericks are currently 4th in the Western Conference.
