During a talk show appearance in 2000, he was asked an interesting question. What does he feel about Bobby Knight? Rodman promptly answered, “He’s a di**head.”
Moreover, when host Jay Leno asked whether Rodman would work with a coach like Bobby Knight, he had an even more outrageous answer.
Rodman said, “Well, if Bobby Knight was my girlfriend, it’d be a different story. See, I gotta have s*x with my girlfriend, I can’t have s*x with Bobby Knight.”
Rodman’s answer triggered a confused response from the audience. In fact, they didn’t know whether to applaud or process the response. The strange analogy had certainly taken them by surprise.
Legendary NCAA coach Bobby Knight has more than 900 wins to his name. He had a stern philosophy that tolerated no nonsense and was built around discipline and team play. On the other hand, Rodman had built a reputation for displaying eccentric and unpredictable behavior outside the court.
Seeing Rodman work under a coach like Knight would have certainly been very interesting.
Rodman had a famous beef with one of his coaches
Rodman is best remembered for his time with the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons. However, he also had a short and eventful stint with the San Antonio Spurs. During his time with the Spurs, he fell off with GM Gregg Popovich.

Despite not having a good relationship with the Pop, he produced extraordinary rebounding numbers. Rodman left the Spurs after two seasons averaging 5.6 points, 2.2 assists, and 17.1 rebounds.
