With millions of fans eagerly waiting to see LeBron James and Bronny James playing together on the same NBA team in 2024, the 18-year-old is facing one of the biggest decisions of his life. Amidst yet another dominant season at Sierra Canyon High, the eldest son of King James, who is at the tail end of his high school career, will soon have to announce his college destination. Needless to say, the frenzy surrounding Bronny’s decision is peaking as his senior year comes to an end. However, amid all the turbulence, the young millionaire received a major assurance recently from his billionaire father.

Meanwhile, LeBron’s statement has triggered negative reactions in the NBA community. Some fans have even accused the Los Angeles Lakers superstar of indulging in nepotism.

LeBron James gives bold assurance to Bronny

Bronny has led the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers to a dominant record of 18-5 while sporting impressive averages that have catapulted him to the top of the national rankings. However, he is one of the only top recruits in the nation who hasn’t committed to a college yet. 

For the most part, James’ camp has tried to keep the entire process under wraps. However, one cannot avoid the spotlight being King James’ son brings forth. Thus, some likely destinations have garnered heightened scrutiny over the past few months from NBA fans. According to widely circulated rumors, the top contenders to land the 4x NBA champions’ son are Oregon, Ohio State, USC, and Michigan State.

However, despite the fierce competition for these prestigious programs, the 28th rank holder in ESPN’s top 100 may not have to worry about standing out in the crowd. Recently, the Los Angeles Lakers forward made a bold assurance about this college selection to his millionaire son.

According to the local publication OregonianBillionaire James issued an audacious statement regarding his son’s college admission process. James reportedly said, “I think Bronny can go to any college he wants to. All I have to do is pick up the phone. If Bronny says he wants to go there, he’s good enough.” Though it may be a relief to Bronny, the NBA world issued major pushback to the King’s proposed methods. 

James faces backlash from fans amid nepotism claims

Needless to say, the NBA world was not in favor of the plaguing nepotism practices being advanced by someone like James. Therefore, the father-son duo faced major backlash on social media following the polarizing statement. The flak was issued at the expense of King James for the most part.
