Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most famous personalities on the planet. The four-time NBA champion can be regularly seen in the news. Be it his role as an analyst on TNT or his various philanthropic activities, Shaq always finds a way to keep himself busy and entertained.

The 15-time NBA All-Star doesn’t shy away from speaking his mind. While that is a commendable quality, it has sometimes brought trouble for the big man. That was the case when O’Neal revealed his intention to join the British royal family by marrying the Queen of England.

In 2018, O’Neal was a guest on James Corden’s ‘The Late Late Show With James Corden‘ along with Victoria Beckham. In the middle of the conversation, O’Neal asked a question that left the whole studio in splits. “If I marry the Queen of England, would that make me the King of England?“, asked Shaq.

While he wasn’t sure about it, Corden said that he would love nothing more than that. “I think it would be the most sensational thing that could ever happen!“, exclaimed Corden. O’Neal started making some flirtatious gestures toward the camera after mistakenly calling her Queen Victoria.

After Corden corrected Shaq, O’Neal said, “Oh sorry! Queen Elizabeth, call me“. Not only did this leave O’Neal embarrassed but it left the audience in stitches. “Sorry about that”, O’Neal apologized for taking the wrong name.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend mentioned how he once got detained for disturbing the Royal guards. Shaq said, “My friend bet me $50,000 that I couldn’t make the guards move“. O’Neal got detained after accidentally touching one of the guards and he had to use Victoria’s husband, David Beckham’s name to get out of the situation.

However, that wasn’t the only time O’Neal took advantage of the Beckham name. During the interview, O’Neal also revealed that he had once found a wallet on the streets of Beverly Hills, California which belonged to David Beckham. While he tried to fool around with Beckham by impersonating someone else, Beckham instantly recognized O’Neal due to his distinct voice.
