And this has made a lot of fans and celebrities angry. So they have been taking to social media to let their feelings known about the whole ordeal. Likewise, the rapper Boosie Badazz also took to social media and showed his outrage about Griner’s sentencing.

He said, “How the hell this girl get nine years for a weed pen… and the USA ain’t doing nothing about it? You tell me that! If that was Taylor Swift, it’d be a peace treaty right now! They’d be drafting to go to war!”

The rapper then proceeded to call out Vice President Kamala Harris. He said, “What that show for Black women in the United States?! And the Vice President: as a Black woman, you supposed to be on the front line! You supposed to be on the front line to get that Black woman out of jail!…”

Celebrities show support for Brittney Griner

A lot of celebrities have shown their support for Brittney Griner after the sentencing. It is never an ideal situation to be detained in a foreign country. And to be sentenced to 9 years in a foreign country is a huge blow.

Fans around the world have shown compassion for what she has been going through. Similar to Boosie Badazz, LeBron James showed his frustration towards the U.S. government for not taking the necessary steps to bring her back. And this was before the court sentenced her to 9 years.

The Lakers superstar said that Griner could feel the country doesn’t have her back. He also said that if it was him, he would be wondering whether he even wants to come back to the country. However, after facing a lot of backlash for his comments, James clarified that he wasn’t knocking the country.

50 Cent, Angie Martinez, Meek Mill, Chuck D, DJ Paul, and many more from the Hip-hop world showed their outrage at the sentencing. Many have compared her with other celebrities like the rapper Boosie Badazz. However, some fans are questioning whether the level of action taken to bring Griner back would be the same if it was any other normal citizen of the United States.
