NFL legend turned sports commentator Shannon Sharpe found himself in the midst of another controversy. Sharpe got involved in a verbal altercation with several Memphis Grizzlies stars and Ja Morant’s father during their loss against the Los Angeles Lakers last Friday. The three-time Super Bowl champ sat courtside seats across the Grizzlies’ bench during the game. Unfortunately, he ended up exchanging words with Dillon Brooks, Steven Adams, Ja Morant, and his father Tee Morant. Eventually, the back and forth between Tee Morant and Shannon Sharpe almost turned violent but they were separated just moments before anything serious transpired. Meanwhile, Shaquille O’Neal recently addressed the ‘sensitivity’ aspect of the issue, concerning Sharpe and the Grizzlies after their confrontation last week.

The Big Diesel admitted to doing something similar in the past and did not want to be a ‘hypocrite’. So, he disagreed with the question about the NFL legend going too far. However, the Lakers legend ended up sending a thoughtful warning to Sharpe and the Grizzlies.

Shaquille O’Neal shares bold take on Shannon Sharpe controversy

In the recent iteration of The Big Podcast, Shaquille O’Neal discussed the Shannon Sharpe-Grizzlies incident with co-hosts Nischelle Turner and Spice Adams. While talking about Sharpe, the four-time NBA champ stated, “So, he’s apologized. He understands! But, when you are talking smack you’re supposed to turn the sensitivity button off.”

Further, Shaq continued, “So let’s break it out. You’re telling me I’m too small to guard LeBron. I’m gonna be sensitive about it. So I’m gonna say F you. So now my sensitivity button is off, so when I say F you to you, your sensitivity button is off. F you back. Now it’s all blown up.”

The 15-time All-Star laid out the difference between what Shannon Sharpe did and what Spike Lee does during his basketball appearances as a spectator. Shaq felt that Spike Lee’s sensitivity button is ‘always off’. He commended the calmness shown by Lee during his altercation with Reggie Miller, who talked back to him. The Lakers legend also praised Spike Lee for not reacting to Miller’s heated words.

Shaq further added, “Again when you are talking smack and somebody talk smack back, the sensitivity button is either on or off. So a lot of times when I talk and you talk back my button’s off but I mean on but when my button’s off and you gonna say something that’s gonna strike a nerve. I’m coming for your head.”?
