Things do not look bright for the Los Angeles Lakers. They are in turmoil. As things stand, the only way they seem to go is down. LeBron James is among the many veterans the roster consists of right now. All of whom have tasted success in their careers and have been a vital part of it over the years. The recent loss against the cross-city rivals, Clippers, was quite a death blow.

It was an easy victory for the Clippers to make it 7-0 in a row in nearly 2 years. There seemed to be some hope for the Lakers as the second part of the season went underway after the NBA All-Star weekend. It seemed like players are dedicated to get back to their best and work as a team. But whether they are dedicated or not, they sure have the results against them. They have lost 4 out of 4 since the All-Star game. Two of which were against the Clippers.

Shaquille O’Neal, furious to see the Lakers like this

LeBron James has been excellent despite the struggles of the team. He does not seem washed like the rest of the Lakers. They currently lack creativity, heart, chemistry, and unity. Even if they are in the lead, they still do not seem like going through and clinching the win. Another thing they lack is the anger after a loss and the hunger for a win. As Shaq stated on The Inside NBA on TNT, they are not mad enough.

“I think I see what the problem is,” said Shaquille O’Neal. “Well, what is it?” asked Kenny Smith.

“Nobody’s mad. I’m telling now I’m losing to the Clippers I’m I’m… Somebody getting beat up that night in the locker room.” said Shaq.

Ernie Johnson interrupted, “That’s not the problem.”

Shaq continued, “No but I’m just saying, they seem to me like I don’t have no expectations and I don’t care and they’re the better team. I ain’t never saying a club is a better team. I’m saying that the problem for me is ain’t nobody mad. I’d have been pissed if i lost to the club where Reggie Jackson out there C-walking and dancing with the damn bird.”

NBA Twitter Torches LeBron James After Charles Barkley Roasts the Lakers During Their Horrific Performance vs Clippers

This was in reaction to the post-game interviews of Russell Westbrook, Frank Vogel, and LeBron James. One has to agree with Shaquille O’Neal; irrespective if they are Lakers fans or not. Well, not the “getting beat up” part, but surely the rest of it.

Lakers do not seem bothered enough by the fact that even though their team is full of champions, their season is anything but of that level. That just shows that the team seriously lacks a winning mentality on some level.

The Lakers stuck at the 9th seed

It has been a repetitive narrative that James has been performing even at 37. There have been laurels about his shooting and scoring abilities. He has had his best point per game average since the 2009-10 season. But it is of no use if it doesn’t generate results for the team.

People often make a case for Malik Monk as he has also played decently. But it doesn’t matter unless the team wins. No individual stat and record would help James and Lakers reach the playoffs.

They are still 9th seed in the western conference. If they want to pull off a miracle, they are in desperate need to start looking like a team.
