On Serge Ibaka’s YouTube show, Jrue spoke about the time he got arrested for having stood up for his family. He begins by stating that his wife, Lauren’s race is white. He recalled that his sister and Lauren were out shopping when they were pulled over by a cop. Both the women were in the car without a license, so Jrue drove up to their spot and handed over his wife’s license to the cops.

The NBA Champion revealed that the cop was a little aggressive and uttered words that Jrue refrained from repeating. Following this, the cop asked Jrue to leave. However, Jrue refused. He said, “I’m like, I’m sorry sir, I’m not going home. Like this is my family.”

Jrue intended on staying because he wanted to make sure that everything was okay. But his supposed pure intention got him into trouble. He said, “because I didn’t leave, I got put into handcuffs.”
