The air of anguish consumed the lives of so many people around the world when the unfortunate news of Stephen “tWitch” Boss broke online. In the early hours of Wednesday, reports confirmed that the celebrity dancer, famously known as tWitch, had passed away after allegedly claiming his own life. Waves of shock echoed through feeds online as people tried to come to terms with the tragic news. Tributes and messages of love poured in from friends and fans. The three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa Bryant were among those who took to Instagram to express their emotions.

Stephen “tWitch” Boss broke into Hollywood with his dancing skills. He came in second on the dance show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. This show allowed him to showcase his talent and also meet popular tv host Ellen DeGeneres. Following his meeting with Ellen, tWitch became a regular DJ on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ and eventually was given the role of executive producer of the show. His stint with Ellen made him a household name across America.

Dwyane Wade and Vanessa Bryant mourn the loss of tWitch

Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade expressed his pain via stories on Instagram. He joined the thousands of people around the world in mourning the loss of tWitch. In a series of stories, Wade expressed his condolences to the tWitch’s family. He said, “I’m praying for The Boss family”. He also highlighted that those who had the opportunity to interact with tWitch would know how painful this loss is.

Following this, he shared a bunch of pictures of the two. D-Wade also shared a video of tWitch and himself from the day they hosted an episode on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’. He captioned this video, “Two black men hosting daytime tv!!” 

Wade and tWitch hosted an episode of the show where they sipped on wine and spoke about their careers. The two also shared several moments of laughter as they reacted to memes about the three-time NBA champion. The audience loved the interaction between the two as they reacted with laughter and applause to each of the segments.

Late NBA legend Kobe Bryant‘s wife, Vanessa Bryant, took to Instagram as well. She shared a story and paired it with a broken heart emoji. Following this, she also shared a post that spoke about being kind to everyone always because the trials and tribunals that people go through aren’t always known to the public.

Ellen DeGeneres reacts to the news

Ellen DeGeneres took to Twitter to express her ache. She shared a picture of herself hugging tWitch and stated that she was heartbroken. She wrote, “He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart.”

tWitch’s wife and fellow dancer, Allison Holker, published a statement and confirmed the reports. She spoke about the impact tWitch had on people’s lives and how he’d light up any room that he walked into. While talking about his values and love for people, she said, “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”
