Kyrie Irving has had a rollercoaster 2022-23 season, something which Irving is kind of used to by now. The polarizing star has taken many hard stances throughout his career, a reason that contributes to him being a controversial figure in the NBA world. However, Kyrie Irving has had enough of it, as he can’t bear the noise coming from the outside. The Dallas Mavericks star recently decided to let everyone know his thoughts on the criticism he faces regularly.

The Mavericks star is onto some amazing games with his new teammate Luka Doncic, but off the court, he was tired of the unhealthy amount of chatter about him. Hence, he decided to put an end to all of that, as he had a sarcastic reply for his haters.

Kyrie Irving goes on a rant on Twitch to give a reply to his haters

In his recent stream on his Twitch channel called Kai11xirving, the Mavericks star went on a lengthy rant as he was frustrated with being misrepresented most of the time. A major part of his anger and annoyance were aimed at how quickly people used to form opinions about him, mentioning howthree hours” of interaction isn’t enough to draw conclusions.

You see me for three hours and you think you know who I am. You see a few posts, ‘Oh Kai is woke’, ..’ he just doesn’t fit into the mold of all the people’, ‘he’s different’, ‘he’s crazy’…all from seeing me for three hours,” said Irving on his recent Twitch stream.

He further added, “Me, you think that I am the cancer in the locker room? As if basketball is an individual sport that one person is supposed to take blame for. It’s 15 guys on the team and I am the one cancer in the room. That’s what it is portrayed as?That’s why these older, bitter gentlemen and women keep my name in their mouths every day.

Irving implied that there are a lot of assumptions about his personality just from that brief interaction; which, in his opinion, is unfair. The Mavericks superstar further talked to the fans in the live stream for over an hour. He also mentioned how he’s made mistakes and isn’t perfect.

The Mavericks star had a very calm and collected approach in the live stream as he was visibly frustrated with the amount of negativity regarding his controversial stances. However, Irving has had a great chance to put all of that in the past since his latest move to Dallas. The fans are excited to see young Luka Doncic under Irving’s experience. Moreover, if they could just crack the code to the season, everything will be in the past.

It came as a huge surprise to many when it actually happened just before the trade deadline. Doncic has been MVP form this season and Irving could really use a change of space considering his roller-coaster season.

Irving has still not settled in, with just four wins since his debut for the Dallas side on 11th February. However, despite the losses, the 30-year-old has managed to show his class; like in the win against the Utah Jazz as he dropped 33pts. Only time will tell if one of the greatest ball-handlers of the game will succeed with the young Slovenian.
