In a match between the Lakers and the Timberwolves, Patrick Beverley did something hilarious at the end of the second quarter.This was their 5th matchup this season against the T-Wolves. After the first quarter, the Wolves had a 14 point lead. Going into the second quarter, Lakers tried to come back, though they couldn’t stop Timberwolves’ rotation and pace. 

With 45 seconds to go in the second quarter, the Wolves were up by 18 points. While Edwards was shooting his pair of free throws, Patrick Beverley went up to LeBron and spanked him. As the crowd cheered for Pat Bev, he yelled right at King James’ face.

This shows how friendly both of these athletes are. LeBron and Beverley share a friendly relationship off the court. Though the question arises, what if someone did this to the great Michael Jordan?

While the league today, does not tolerate any sort of abuse or aggressive exchange of words among players on the court, it used to be a whole lot different in the 90s. Players went off at each other, taunting each other after almost every possession in front of the referees. Of course, this action would result in a technical foul in today’s game.

Referees didn’t really seem to care when players talked trash. They would get involved only when the players came to blows.

Michael Jordan never really backed up when taunted. Instead, he played the game and dominated on both ends. Though if someone was to spank Jordan in the middle of the game, chances are, he wouldn’t take it so lightly. 

Most fans would expect Michael Jordan to fight back, but given his competitiveness, he would probably let his game do the talking. We can certainly agree it was a different time, and Jordan a different type of athlete. His temperament on the court was notorious, and only the bravest provoked him. In the end, they all paid for their indiscretions against Jordan.
