The Golden State Warriors shone bright like a beacon during the 2022 NBA finals. Stephen Curry led his Warriors to the franchise’s seventh championship trophy after defeating the Boston Celtics. Dub Nation rejoiced as the Warriors basked in the glory of being the champions yet again after four years. However, the effects didn’t seem to last long due to the Warriors’ recent performances which prompted a particular NBA analyst to call them out on National television.
Stephen Curry has missed 22 games this season due to a shoulder and leg injury. Having sustained right shoulder subluxation during the game against the Indiana Pacers, Curry missed 11 games from December 16 to January 7. Following that, Steph suffered from a left leg injury while playing against the Dallas Mavericks and missed 11 more games.

Since the regular season began, the Golden State Warriors have played 31 away games and lost in 24 of them. While the Warriors are the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference, they have seemingly performed better in their home court in contrast to the road games. In the recent episode of the NBA First Take, sports commentator and analyst Stephen A. Smith gave his take on the Warriors’ mediocre display in the away games.
"They are inexplicably atrocious. It's just that simple… There's no excuse to be 7-24 on the road. That is just an utter embarrassment and a disgrace for a reigning champion."

When asked if the Warriors’ inadequate performance were a ‘real problem’, Smith replied, “Of course it is. I mean we all know how I feel about the Warriors. I picked them to win last year and had them represent this year again. This year on the road, they are inexplicably atrocious. It’s just that simple. To the Golden State Warriors, I don’t know what the hell is going on but there’s no excuse to be 7-24 on the road. That is just an utter embarrassment and a disgrace for a reigning champion.”
