Russell Westbrook often finds himself at the business end of fans’ criticism of his on-court decisions as well as his off-court failures to satisfy. After leaving the Los Angeles Lakers to join city rivals Clippers recently, the nine-time All-Star has yet to mend most fences, and fans just found another reason to troll not only Westbrook but his wife Nina Earl as well. Their complementary outfits at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party seem to have aced the symmetry but it is apparently still not enough to be complimented!

The new Los Angeles Clipper runs a clothing line of his own and is known to experiment often. Fans are well-aware of his varying sense of fashion, as the star is regularly spotted in dressing-styles of multiple kinds.

Fans, on the other hand, did not seem to support them even at the comments-level. A majority of social media-users who addressed the couple went on to torch the two with abrasive words.

One fan tweeted, “Clean? Gets fitted by a tailor and just decides to cut his pants off at the knees? Is this why I fought and died in Vietnam?”

Another commented, “Clean? It looks really silly. Cut off tux pants w combat boots? Rich people need style and wardrobe managers so they dont embarass themselves. Nba players overall dress horrible, I dont understand it.”

Here are a few more ‘wild’ reactions from Twitter:

Fans did not hold back in making fun of Westbrook’s dressing sense, all the while dragging his wife in as well. Though the banter was clearly playful, fans might have been subliminally targeting Westbrook’s performance in the league of late, pouncing a little too hard on the point guard’s lack of sophistication while trouser-less, so to speak!

However, since then, the Clippers have kept up a three-game winning streak in the hopes of turning things around. Though Brodie’s PPG average has been the lowest this year so far, the Clippers have finally started winning games. With a 36-33 overall record, the Clippers are at fifth place in the Western Conference. If they keep it up, they should be able to make it to the playoffs this year.

Perhaps Russell Westbrook, with his pants cut into shorts, is just signaling the change?
