LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers took care of business against the Memphis Grizzlies in game-6 and advanced to the next round. The Lakers were unstoppable at home and won the game 85-125. This was the first time since 2010 a 7th seed has eliminated a 2nd seed. The Grizzlies have been beefing with the Lakers for some time now. After game-2, Dillon Brooks had some interesting comments about James. But the 40-point loss in the elimination game has come back to bite him now.

Isiah Thomas remembers Dillon Brooks’ comments on LeBron James

After the Grizzlies won game-2 and evened the series 1-1, Dillon Brooks stated that he does not care about LeBron James because he is old. He also said that he does not respect a player until they score 40 against him and added that he likes to “poke bears” – and it has not ended well for Brooks and the Grizzlies.

Even though the four-time NBA champion did not score 40 in any game during the series, he has been a major reason behind the Lakers’ success. Brooks has hence become a target for trolls after the elimination and losing a playoff game by 40 points.

He said, “Didn’t my man say, ‘I don’t respect nobody until you give me 40.’?”
