Many speculated that Michael Jordan was behind the exclusion of Thomas. Speaking on a podcast, Isiah Thomas ripped apart Jordan regarding this issue.
He said, “So, I didn’t make the team. This is where I go to the selectors, I go to the authorities and I tell them, ‘We should never be in a position where a player can say to the selection committee that this one can’t play.’“
Thomas adds, “That’s your responsibility as the selectors. If Jordan didn’t want to play, I still think we would have won. The fact that Jordan felt that way is the first time I’ve ever heard him publicly say, ‘I hate him.'”
Although Jordan denied the allegations that he was behind the dropping of Isiah Thomas, it seems the two legends are still not over their long-standing rivalry.
