Controversial rapper Kanye West is making headlines for all the wrong reasons recently. His recent comments have landed him in trouble with several companies and many are starting to sever ties with him following his antisemitic comments. But a former NBA champ made a bold claim amidst the huge West news.

West has been in the spotlight for the last two weeks now and several of his comments have sparked global outrage and controversy. His antisemitic comments have landed him in huge trouble. Adidas, which had a deal with West to manufacture his Yeezy shoes, cut ties with him after West over his comments. The company released a statement that terminated its partnership with Ye immediately. They announced they would stop the production and sale of his products with immediate effect.

Former NBA Champ makes a statement amid Kanye West drama

Amid all this drama, former NBA champion Nick Young made a bold statement about West and the companies that cut ties with him. He tweeted,” YE is Free of all his deals with a lot of money isn’t that everything he wanted”. Young also warned Adidas after they cut partnerships with him.

He said, “Adidas just stay quiet I dnt think that’s smart letting ye walk unless y’all got other shoes we dnt no about dropping soon!!”

It all started during the Paris fashion week when West put out on a ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt. He faced serious backlash from celebrities and fans from around the world. After that West went on a rant on several social media sites, which included antisemitic remarks.

After several celebrities and fans condemned him, Twitter and Instagram limited his accounts. After that, West went on several shows and podcasts where he dialed up on his comments. And this was seemingly the last straw for several companies that had partnerships and endorsement deals with the rapper.

First, it was Balenciaga who ended its ties with West. After that, it was the Creative Artists agency that dropped him and a documentary on West has also been scrapped. Adidas, GAP, and Footlocker all followed suit. Donda Sports, West’s sports agency, lost two high-profile clients in NFL star Aaron Donald and Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown.
