Naturally, the important players on the roster felt like they deserved huge contracts. That was the case with Pippen as well. However, the six-time champion signed a five-year $18 million contract. This just felt wrong to him and the world. According to him, he signed the deal because he needed the money and he couldn?t risk his career earnings to an injury.

The NBA legend came out in his book ?Unguarded? where he explained that Jordan?s documentary let out a very vulnerable side of him. Moreover, he isn?t a fan of many things that were in the final cut of the documentary.

?The ESPN documentary made me seem na?ve given how much more money players would eventually earn under the revised collective bargaining agreement with the owners,? stated Pippen.

The Bulls legend further explained how his life completely changed because of the contract. ?It cost me millions of dollars and had a negative effect on my relationship with Jerry Reinsdorf and Jerry Krause for the rest of my time in Chicago,? wrote Pippen.?
