Former Boston Celtics star Enes Kanter Freedom has been a part of the NBA since 2011. Recently, the ex-Celtics star, who is infamous for calling out LeBron James on past occasions on many social issues, addressed the latest controversy that was triggered after the Turkish government placed a bounty on his head.

Enes Kanter Freedom recently opened up about the bounty on his head placed by the Turkish government after he called out Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The 30-year-old accused the Turkish President of causing dissent and abusing of his power in 2019. Since then, Freedom found himself at odds with his home country’s government and the Turkish government also issued a $500,000 bounty on his head recently. However, the former Celtics star has made a valiant claim about having no regrets about speaking up on the alleged malpractices of the Turkish government.

As per Fox Business News, Enes Kanter Freedom expressed his opinion about the troubles he has faced in the last few years for being a voice for the people. Freedom stated, “I’m trying to be the voice of all those innocent people out there who don’t have a voice. So it is worth it, yes. It might cost me my career, my family, and everything I have. But I know in the end, I am doing God’s work. So, yes, it is worth it. And I have no regrets.”

The NBA star pointed out that he was paying a heavy price for speaking up against the wrongdoings of the Turkish government. However, Freedom had no regrets about his decisions and believed he was trying to shed light on the struggles of innocent people.
