Speaking of some of the most loyal players in the league, one cannot leave Nikola Vucevic of Orlando Magic off the list. Vucevic has been with the franchise for nine long years. During that time, he has developed into an excellent player.
Vucevic is finally getting the recognition he deserves for his contributions as well. This season, the 30-year-old was selected for the second NBA All-Star appearance of his career. Despite the veteran’s efforts, the Magic are still struggling to find their groove this season.
As of now, they are 14th in the conference with an abysmal record of 13-22. But it’s hard to blame the team for this poor first half of the season. They started the season off in a blazing form, but numerous injury troubles made life difficult for the Orlando Magic.

Even though Vucevic was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers, he spent just one season with the franchise. Since his sophomore season in the league, he has been a crucial part of the Magic’s squad. He talked about his legacy with the organization in an interview with NBA insider Shams Charania. Vucevic said:
“It’s special when you can be with a team for a long time and build a legacy. What’s special for me is the last few seasons is that we’ve been winning a little bit more and we made to the playoffs after really losing for a long time. So, it’s been rewarding.”

Vucevic also believes that playing for a team for a long time has its own benefits, like being remembered as one of the best players of the franchise by fans. Also, one can climb the ranks in the all-time points, rebounds, and records of the team as well.
“Not every player gets a chance to some of the best teams and play for a championship. … A lot of times it’s difficult to get in that situation. I think there is also something special about being with a one team for a long time.”
