After winning three-straight games in the previous week, the Los Angeles Lakers had a rather disappointing game on Sunday night. Despite the slow start in the beginning, the purple and gold had earlier moved into the No. 8 seed, keeping hopes of the playoffs alive. However, after recently bringing up their tally to 37-37, the Lakers dropped one spot down following their loss to the Chicago Bulls. This did not sit well with the Lakers fanbase and one particular NBA star ended up facing harsh criticism for it.

The game against the Chicago Bulls turned out to be a disheartening one. After remaining on the sidelines for a significant amount of period, LeBron James finally made a surprise comeback on Sunday night only to take part in a blowout loss.

Lakers forward has a request for fans
It’s been a little over a month since NBA star Malik Beasley was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers as part of a three-team trade deal. Since then, the 26-year-old forward has played in 19 games averaging 11.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists with the Lakers. Beasley’s struggle was evident during the game against the Chicago Bulls having finished with 18 points. Following the loss, Beasley took to Instagram to wish his 4-year-old son Makai on his birthday with an adorable caption.

Things turned sour for the Lakers player when fans began leaving a bunch of negative comments on the post. The responses were directed towards Beasley for his poor performance on the court. This prompted Beasley to reply to the harsh criticism with a promise and a request.

He wrote, “It’s my sons bday and I’m trying to enjoy that.. obviously I want to be making shots my self. I’m harder on myself then anybody.. laker nation it’s only a matter of time. I put in toooo much work not too. I promise when the time to turn up comes , it will come. Let’s focus on getting to playoffs.”

The Lakers fall short of the Bulls
The Chicago Bulls ended the game by scoring 118 against the Lakers’ 108 points. Zach LaVine dropped a game-high 32 points and four assists to lead the Bulls to victory. Teammate DeMar DeRozan added 17 points to secure the win.

On the other hand, LeBron James scored 19 points and eight rebounds coming off the bench. Whereas, Anthony Davis added 15 points and nine rebounds.
