Absence of key players is one of the many nightmares that haunt a sports team. The reigning NBA champions the Golden State Warriors have been dealing with the absence of key personnel for quite some time. It was only today that the Warriors’ biggest star Stephen Curry returned to the team, after battling a leg injury for over a month. Though the Warriors and their fans are relieved to see Steph back, they are still shrouded in uncertainty regarding some recent developments. Another star player’s absence is still haunting the fandom.

Everyone was eager to see Steph back in the game against the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the superstar’s return was ruined after his side lost the game. Given their reputation as the reigning champions, the Warriors fans are eager to see them seize the prize twice in a row. For that dream to materialize, the Warriors will need players who were crucial in the last season’s triumphant campaign. The Dubs’ power forward Andrew Wiggins, who has been out since last month, is the need of the hour for the side.

The former All-Star has not played for the San Francisco side since February 13 2023. Wiggins is not injured, but it is a ‘family matter’ that has kept the star off the squad. Since Wiggins has been missing for weeks, fans are now restless and they are dying to know what is keeping him off.

After repeated entreaties from fans, Warriors reporter Kerith Burke recently addressed the issue. According to Burke, “The Warriors have told reporters two things: “Personal reasons” and “family matter.” That’s it. Because it’s personal and family, it’s private. The only extra info with come if Wiggins chooses to share it when he returns.”

Fans have now taken to social media to seek answers for the Canadian’s absence. However, the star has not yet fully disclosed what is happening. Since he has been out for a family matter and it has been quite some time, fans only know it is something serious. However, it is personal and private. Therefore, there is a limit to which fans and the media can try to pursue the situation.

Will Wiggins give the extra info?

As much as the fans are waiting for Wiggins’ return, they are as curious to know what has happened to him. As of now, nobody knows when the Canadian will return. The team is not sure if the former All-Star will return this season. Even if he returns soon, nobody can expect him to reveal the ‘family matter’ that has been keeping him off. He will either speak on it or he will choose not to.
