Joel Embiid has made some moves during his vacation time. As fans know, he had a very disappointing end to the season as the Philadelphia 76ers limped out of the playoffs against the Miami Heat. Since then, there have been rumors circulating about him leaving the 76ers.

He has “put fire” to those rumors today. After Miami’s very disastrous defeat to the Boston Celtics in Game 5, he tweeted out, “Miami needs another Star.” This has made Miami fans excited about the future.

Embiid has his good friend, Jimmy Butler playing for the Heat too. Their combination, according to the Miami fans, will crackle like a fresh sizzler. Embiid came 2nd in the MVP voting this year and is the current scoring champion. He has been loyal to the 76ers till now and has been part of ” The Process” initiated in 2013 by former general manager Sam Hinkie.

As said above, Embiid has been part of the 76ers since 2014. Hinkie’s plan was to acquire as many assets as possible. Whether through draft picks, signing young players, or signing someone through trade, just to give them all to acquire a potential superstar player.

Embiid became the face of this when he was drafted. They also ended up drafting the likes of Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz. However, Hinkie ended up leaving the job in 2016.

In 2018, they acquired the services of one Jimmy Butler. He turned out to be a fine performer for the 76ers and combined well with Embiid. They ended up in the playoffs. But they got knocked out by eventual champions, the Toronto Raptors.

Butler’s performances ended up with him signing for Miami next season. Coach Brett Brown insisted on him moving to another team. He did and ended up thriving. They are now in their second conference finals in the last three years and this year; they beat the 76ers in the semifinals, which prompted Butler to subtly ask Embiid to move to South Beach with him.
