The Rebound King of the NBA, Dennis Rodman, is a man with multiple sides to him. There’s the NBA legend who is also a Hall of Famer and five-time NBA champion. The other is the ‘Wild Dennis’ who loves partying, and then there’s the guy who had a rough childhood. Beneath all that glamour and fame lies the kid who was abandoned by his father and unintentionally neglected by his mother, who worked multiple jobs to sustain her kids. Amidst all that, little Dennis Rodman grew up without love and affection. Such upbringing ultimately caused Rodman to maintain emotional distance from just about everyone he met.

Rodman once told in an interview that he only provided his kids with stuff they needed and that was all. There was no emotional bond between them, and he called himself a bad father. Even though he wanted to form a bond with his children, he just didn’t know how to do that. In a recent episode of the reality show, Rodman reflected on the rough life he had and got emotional after a minor verbal dispute with his housemate.

Dennis Rodman gets teary-eyed after an argument

Dennis Rodman unintentionally angered housemate August Alsina when he interrupted the singer mid-conversation. Alsina then abruptly cut Rodman off by telling him to let him finish his answer. The small outburst created an awkward situation for the other housemates as they quietly listen to their conversation. Alsina told Rodman not to ask him a question and then goes on to interrupt him when he is about to answer. Alsina then stated that Rodman has been in his own ‘Dennis World’ for so long that he is oblivious to what reactions his actions could cause in other people.

“I want that. You know why? Because I want to see how things work in that world, because guess what? I’ve been in this world so godd*mn long, it hurts!,” said Rodman.

Rodman said that he just wanted to show the different sides he has and how it was still fine to have emotions despite being the ‘coolest guy on the planet’.

Watching him get emotional, one of the housemates made sure to let him know that he was loved. Singer Tamar Braxton said during the individual interview that it was visible that Rodman was dealing with a lot of issues. Additionally, she said that she was honored that Rodman chose to be vulnerable in front of them. Alsani too chimed in and assured the NBA legend that everyone present in that room loved him. He said that he empathized with Rodman for having to deal with all those years of buried emotions.
