Ja Morant has been making highlights since the start of the season. His high-flying dunks and posters have taken over a number of highlight reels on multiple NBA shows across the globe. The 6’3″ point guard for the Memphis Grizzlies sure has some serious bounce beneath him, and he just recently exposed the secret behind his unreal athleticism after pulling off a dunk-of-the-year candidate against the Indiana Pacers. 

Ja Morant’s high-flying antics have really transitioned into something tangible. The Grizzlies are now the second-best team in the Western Conference, currently on a nine-game winning streak, and looking to build on it.

Dunk of the year candidate from Morant?

Recently, Morant pulled off a dunk-of-the-year candidate against the Indiana Pacers. In their last matchup, Morant split two defenders to throw down a monster dunk on Pacers forward Jalen Smith.

Even Celtics legend Kevin Garnett was taken aback and went to his Twitter to express his views on Morant’s athleticism. But recently, the Murray State product decided to expose his secret to his insane vertical and athleticism.

Morant tweeted, “IT’S THE JA1s . IT’S THE SHOES,” crediting his latest signature shoe for his bounce. Ja Morant is the recent addition to the Nike family after the departure of Kyrie Irving from the Nike roster. 

This could be perceived as a brilliant marketing move from the Grizzlies’ All-Star to get fans to buy more of his signature shoes. Nonetheless, Morant’s insane dunk is undoubtedly going to draw in more attraction to his fanbase.

Ja Morant pumping up his dunk to go viral

The dunk by Ja Morant on Jalen Smith drew a lot of attention from fans and even players from around the league. The official Twitter page for the NBA went ahead and posted a highlight of Morant’s dunk from all the different angles they could find.

And the 2020 Rookie of the Year made sure to push his dunk even more on social media in order for it to go viral. As many fans know, every year the league chooses a dunk-of-the-year from in-game dunks by players.

This slam by Ja Morant is surely going to be considered one of the best posters this season. Morant has already put Spurs’ center Jakob Poetl on the poster twice. But this dunk on Jalen Smith surely supersedes those slams.
