Former NBA player Glen “Big Baby” Davis recently spoke with VladTV about getting into boxing. The former NBA champion has been out of the league for more than seven years now, but he may be about to embark on his next athletic adventure. In fact, he was reportedly being considered for a bout on Jake Paul’s undercard before the entire card was shelved.

Glen Davis, however, isn’t the first retired NBA athlete looking to trade the basketball court for the boxing ring. Former players like Nate Robinson, Deron Williams, Lamar Odom, etc. have dabbled with boxing.

Interestingly, Davis was asked about the boxing fight between Nate Robinson and Jake Paul. He stated Nate is his boy, but he wasn’t ready to fight since he hadn’t sparred. Moreover, he showered effusive praises on Jake Paul.

“Jake Paul is an animal,” Davis said. “He is an insane, passionate country boy fed like he the white boy that is with black guys. He’s one of those guys that takes on every challenge, so that’s where he’s just as good as an athlete as Nate.”?

Glen Davis was all praises for Jake Paul as the YouTuber is unquestionably one of the most controversial figures on the internet. Despite this, the 25-year-old has amassed a fortune from his YouTube and boxing careers.

Davis describes him as an “animal” because of his passion for whatever he does. However, the former NBA player is no less than an animal himself, considering he once bodyslammed Shaquille O’Neal.

Davis discussed his wrestling experience with Shaq on VladTV. He described how they were having dinner when the Lakers legend turned the conversation to wrestling by asking him to step outside.

“Went to dinner with him at his house eating spaghetti and then Shaq goes out of nowhere and he was like ‘let’s go outside,'” Davis said. “And then he’s like all right let’s get down. You know how you wrestle, you get into a position, so I’m in the position.”?

Davis goes on to describe picking up Shaq and slamming him down like a wrestler.

“And I’m like grabbing him and holding them and next thing you know I slam him down like a wrestler and he was like, god damn you know you’re big a*s kid.’ So that’s how me and his relationship really started,” Davis added.
