‘James Bond’ Daniel Craig Once Stole the Show Amidst NBA All-Star Clash Between LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo

LeBron James has been the undisputed best player in the world for a considerable period. His reign may be in question now, but there was a time when he reigned supreme. But there was a time in 2020 when LeBron and his challenger for the throne of the best player, Giannis were outshone by Daniel Craig. It was when Craig was promoting his movie.

Daniel Craig stole the show because a new promo for No Time to Die aired during the NBA All-Star weekend festivities. The trailer showcased some of the action sequences from the film, including a car chase and some high-flying plane piloting by Bond, aka Daniel Craig.

No Time to Die was Daniel Craig’s last film as 007. The movie’s cast also included Rami Malek, Ralph Fiennes, and Ana de Armas.

The 2019-20 NBA season

The 2019-20 would eventually be a unique season for the NBA because of the coronavirus pandemic. Without completing all the games, the league would suspend the season. After a while, the league would finally resume in the Disney bubble.

We then saw it as a changing of a guard season in the NBA. Giannis and LeBron had been going head to head for the MVP battle. LeBron’s first season in LA had been disappointing and Giannis had lost the ECF after leading 2-0 against the Toronto Raptors.

Giannis would again stumble in the postseason for the second consecutive time. But for LeBron and the Lakers, it was a season of silver lining. After securing the number one seed in the Western Conference, the Lakers would go on gentleman sweep through the playoffs.

They would meet the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals. The Lakers would come out victors in six games with LeBron winning his fourth NBA Finals MVP.

Though in the MVP race Giannis would edge out LeBron James to win his second consecutive MVP. Giannis would also win the Defensive Player of the Year award. This would make him just the third player ever to win those two awards in the same season after Michael and Hakeem in 1988 and 1994, respectively.
