Like most other NBA stars, James Harden also has a special affinity to his family. Constantly described as underrated by NBA fans, Harden has established his name in the league as one of its famous stars. Referred to by his nickname as ‘The Beard’, Harden plays for the Brooklyn Nets. Harden once described an adorable moment that he shared with his mother.

In a 2017 interview with ‘Time’ magazine, Harden spoke about things like basketball, including his early childhood. Harden revealed a personal note that he left addressed to his mother when he was in the ninth grade. While still a kid in school, Harden predicted his future star status in the NBA to his mother.

In the note, Harden told his mother, “Could u leave me a couple of dollars? P.S. Keep this paper. Imma be a star.” Harden’s belief in himself at such a young age is commendable. As Harden’s older brother, Akili Roberson, describes, “He carried around a basketball as if it was his job.”

Harden is quite certainly one of the many stars at the Brooklyn Nets. Harden joins Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, to form one of the imposing trios in the NBA. He joined the Nets on January 14, 2021. In his Nets debut, Harden recorded a triple double in a victory against the Orlando Magic.

Harden has not won any NBA titles yet.

James Harden and his relationship with his mother

In a 2017 interview with ‘Sports Illustrated’, James Harden revealed his admiration of his mother, Monja Willis. Harden had just broken up with his ex-girlfriend, Khloe Kardashian. The two celebrities’ separation was widely covered in the media. Harden told SI, “I might watch a movie tonight. My mom is my Valentine.”

The NBA awarded Harden the 2018 MVP award, and he brought his mother on stage to share the honors. Willis has defended her son on social media previously. She took shots at Houston Rockets fans after they roasted Harden for requesting a trade. Willis said, “He is doing what is best for his career.” It is no surprise then that Harden maintains such a close relationship with his mother.
